Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin is assassinated at the end of the peace rally in Kings of Israel Square in Tel Aviv.
- In a double suicide bombing at the Beit Lid junction, twenty-one soldiers and one civilian were murdered.
- The Interim Agreement between Israel and the Palestinians – "Oslo II" – was signed in Washington.
- Yitzhak Rabin was assassinated by Yigal Amir, a young Jewish extremist who opposed the Oslo Accords, at the end of the peace rally in Tel Aviv.
- Rabin was laid to rest on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem, in the presence of leaders from around the world, among them King Hussein and President Clinton.
