Camp David

Begin, Sadat and Carter signed the Camp David Accords, the first step toward peace between Israel and Egypt.

  1. Terrorists who landed from the sea hijack a bus on the Coastal Road; dozens of civilians are murdered in the attack.
  2. Izhar Cohen and the Alphabeta win the Eurovision Song Contest in Paris with "A-Ba-Ni-Bi", Israel's first victory.
  3. At the White House, in the presence of President Carter, Begin and Sadat sign the Camp David Accords.
  4. In Oslo, the Nobel Peace Prize is awarded to Menachem Begin and Anwar Sadat.
