Zionism Is Not Racism

The UN General Assembly defined Zionism as racism, and Israel's ambassador Chaim Herzog tore up the resolution at the rostrum.

  1. Terrorists who landed from the sea seize the Savoy Hotel in Tel Aviv; Colonel Uzi Yairi is killed in the rescue operation.
  2. Shlomo Artzi represents Israel at the Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm with the song "At VaAni".
  3. Israel and Egypt sign the Sinai Interim Agreement in Geneva.
  4. The UN General Assembly adopts Resolution 3379, determining that Zionism is a form of racism; the resolution was revoked in 1991.
