The Kinneret Flows South

The National Water Carrier was inaugurated, bringing water from the Sea of Galilee (Kinneret) to the center and south of the country.

  1. Pope Paul VI arrives in Israel, the first visit to the country by a head of the Catholic Church.
  2. Israel's national football team wins the Asian Cup.
  3. The National Water Carrier is inaugurated.
  4. The remains of Ze'ev Jabotinsky are brought for burial on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
