Water for the Negev

The Yarkon–Negev pipeline carried water into the desert, and David Ben-Gurion returned as prime minister.

  1. Israel announces that it has acquired four of the Dead Sea Scrolls.
  2. The eastern line of the Yarkon–Negev project, carrying water to the Negev, is inaugurated.
  3. Elections to the Third Knesset.
  4. David Ben-Gurion returns as prime minister and forms the seventh government.
