Memory and Education

The Knesset enacted the Yad Vashem Law and the State Education Law, and Ben-Gurion retired to Sde Boker.

  1. The Israel Prize is awarded for the first time.
  2. The Knesset approves the State Education Law.
  3. The Knesset enacts the Yad Vashem Law, to commemorate the Holocaust and Heroism.
  4. David Ben-Gurion resigns as prime minister and moves to Kibbutz Sde Boker in the Negev.
